MISSION STATEMENT:

ACPI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of aviation-related crime through:

1. EDUCATION of the aviation industry worldwide in security awareness, theft prevention and methods.

2. COOPERATION between the Aviation Industry and Law Enforcement Agencies to provide information on theft or suspicious activity.

3. COMMUNICATION of information and security procedures to all involved.

ACPI is supported by grants and donations from the aviation industry and flying public.

4/30: A Piper was stolen from Andros, Bahamas, flown to Jamaica and seized by authorities. Flying to foreign destinations continue to be a risk for GA aircraft.

INDUSTRY ALERT: The Mexican Government is seizing aircraft in an "accelerated" manner. This means the traffickers will need to replace seized aircraft quickly to continue business.

The immediate threat was named as King Air models, Caravans and medium/heavy Cessna Cabin Class Twins.

NOTE: That doesn't mean the Cessna singles are being ignored. On 4/14 a Cessna 206 was stolen at gunpoint El Gallito Airport, operated by the Hotel Serenidad in Muldge, Mexico. See details below in Theft Alerts.

ACPI strongly recommends pilots and owners take measures to secure and guard their planes at home base and especially if traveling to foreign destinations.
